Privacy policy exemption bill passes House

HB 863 by Rep. Byron Cook (R-Corsicana), which exempts CPAs from the requirement to have a privacy policy because they collect client’s Social Security numbers, passed the House this week with no opposition.

The bill now goes to the Senate, where Sen. Rodney Ellis (D-Houston) will carry it for us.
