CPA Rep. John Otto (R-Dayton) says it’s an “outright lie.”

In a press release Rep. John Otto, the author of the resolution that gave rise to Propositions 2 and 3 on the November 3rd constitutional amendment ballot, makes it clear that these propositions do not establish a state property tax.

Otto has spent his legislative career trying to make property taxes more fair to taxpayers. He is a most unlikely author of any proposal to establish a state ad valorem tax. See his forceful press release here.
