Low voter turnout is alive and well in Texas. In the Republican primary run-off elections in took less than 500,000 votes to win, or about 3.5% of all the registered voters in Texas. The numbers were even lower for the Democratic run-off. Even though the numbers were low, the proportional difference between the Rs and the Ds does not bode well for Democratic statewide candidates. For a pictorial view of voter turnout, check out the Texas Tribune for a map of voter turnout.
