Update on the State Comptroller race

The June 30, 2014 campaign contribution reports have been filed.  Democratic candidate CPA and TSCPA member Mike Collier's report for the six months ended June 30, 2014 reported total polical contributions of $350,027, outstanding loans $600,000, total expenditures of $688,623 and cash on hand at $284,434.  Collier's biggest single contribution was $210,000. 

Republican candidate Sen. Glenn Hegar reported total political contributions of over $2,000,000 during the first half of 2014.  His filing with the Texas Ethics Commission reporting from Feb. 23 through June 30, 2014 showed $1,393,101 in contributions, no outstanding loans, total expenditures of $455,034 and cash on hand totaling $1,228,986.  Hegar's biggest contributions were two contributions of $100,000 each.

Collier just announced a two-week 36 city "Texas Watchdog" tour.
