Comptroller’s race goes to Alpine

Democratic candidate for State Comptroller, CPA and TSCPA member Mike Collier, stopped in Alpine as part of his two-week 36 city tour.  We've seen press reports from Gobbler's Road in Lufkin and Midland and now Alpine.  In each city Collier is received by "a small group of supporters."  According to the Alpine Avalanche "Collier wants 'professionalism' in government."

According to the news report, Collier said the projected $8 billion budget surplus in Texas should go for “schools, roads and infrastructure” rather than business tax cuts.
