According to the Amarillo Globe-News CPA and TSCPA member Rep. Charles Perry (R-Lubbock) has raised more money than his opponent in the special election contest for Senate District 28 formerly held by now Texas Tech Chancellor Robert Duncan. While money is not votes, we all know how important money is in a hard fought political campaign.
Although there are six candidates in the race, only two reported significant contributions. One week before the election Perry still had twice as much money on hand as his chief competitor.
The Texas Society of CPAs PAC has endorsed Perry in the race.
