CPA Charles Perry wins Senate District 28 special election

CPA and TSCPA member Rep. Charles Perry (R-Lubbock) is now Senator Perry.  He won the special election without a runoff in a field of six candidates getting 53% of the votes with his closest competitor at 30%.  According to the Texas Tribune "Of the district's 51 counties, Perry broke 50 percent in 42 of them.  You can read more about the election results in the TT article.

Perry was endorsed by TSCPA-PAC.  CPAs will be glad to have a CPA in the Senate once again.  Sen. Tommy Williams, a CPA and TSCPA members, resigned his senate seat late last year.
